A series of activities took place at the cultural festival at Cai Rang floating market from July 6th to 8th.

Accordingly, a boat parade on the river, quiz games, a photo exhibition on Can Tho city’s development over the past 15 years, don ca tai tu performances, folk games and sporting events are held.
Visitors can also join Can Tho city tours operated by local travel companies, enjoy local specialties and take part in many other cultural activities.
The event is being co-held by the Can Tho city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Cai Rang district, to honour and promote the image of the floating market, a national intangible cultural heritage, to domestic and foreign tourists, and to mark Vietnam Tourism Day (July 9th).

Cai Rang floating market was formed in the early 20th century. It is situated on Can Tho river, which is a strategic waterway of Hau river - Xa No canal. So it is very convenient for trading with neighboring provinces and across the Mekong Delta region.
Commodities are plentiful at the market, including non-processed and processed foods, essential goods for daily life.
The market currently attracts from 250 to 400 boats every day./.
