Online photo contest on Ao dai in Dong Nai

Launched on the fanpage of the provincial Women’s Union, the contest has received attention, sharing as well as positive comments from the community, thus ntroducing and honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women in general and women in Dong Nai province in particular, creating a pervasive effect among people.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Women's Union Le Thi Thai said that in response the “Ao dai – Vietnamese cultural heritage” program, the union organize diverse activities to promote the image of traditional clothes. The union mobilized female officials and civil servants put on Ao dai not only every Monday but all days in the Ao dai week from March 2^nd to 8^th and organized the online photo contest.

The encouragement of wearing Ao dai in the province will not only promote the beauty of traditional clothes but also spread traditional cultural values.

"These will be the basis for Vietnam to soon complete dossier to submit UNESCO for recognition of Ao dai as an intangible cultural heritage of the world", said Ms. Thai.
