Hanoi cancels fireworks on 70th anniversary of capital liberation

The Hanoi Party Committee has announced the cancellation of all fireworks displays in all 30 districts, towns and cities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and sharing with people affected by storms and floods.

This move comes following the devastating aftermaths of Typhoon Yagi, which caused heavy property damage and loss of life in northern Vietnam.
At the meeting on September 24, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasised that the move reflects the city’s commitment to its people, showcasing the spirit of 'Hanoi for the nation, with the nation."
Vice Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education Dinh Thi Mai commended the city's decision, describing it as a timely and necessary show of support for those affected by the typhoon./.
