The festival, themed “Hanoi Connects the World”, took place at Thong Nhat Park. It featured participation from 16 embassies, including Algeria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Laos, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, South Korea, France, Italy and Venezuela, along with representatives from eight provinces: Ha Giang, Son La, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa and Quang Binh, showcasing nearly 100 booths.
Visitors were treated to a vibrant cultural and culinary experience that highlighted traditional craft villages. In addition, artisans demonstrated their skills, bringing to life the rich culinary heritage of Hanoi. Attendees enjoyed a variety of local dishes, such as Hanoi Pho, West Lake shrimp cakes, Phu Do noodles, Uoc Le pork rolls, Lang Vong green rice, Me Tri green rice, sticky rice, Phu Thuong sweet soup, Tranh Khuc sticky rice cake, Phung spring rolls, Ganh rice cakes, Phu Nhi rice cakes, Quang Phu Cau rice porridge, Ha Mo rice porridge and So village vermicelli.
A highlight of the festival was the promotion and preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of "Hanoi Pho." The organizers announced the decision to include "Hanoi Pho" in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list; established a section on Hanoi cuisine in the Kinh te va Do thi newspaper; and held a seminar on "Protecting and Promoting the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hanoi Pho."
Notably, a program called "Ha Thanh Digital Pho" introduced attendees to technological innovations and digital transformation in Vietnam’s culinary scene. Guests had the opportunity to sample traditional pho dishes alongside a modern twist, featuring smart robots assisting with production and service.
The Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival aims to celebrate, preserve and enhance the traditional cultural and culinary values of the capital. It seeks to build and effectively promote a cultural and culinary brand that showcases the rich, unique and quintessential aspects of Vietnamese cuisine.
The festival served as a platform for organizations, individuals and artisans to meet, share and promote their products while immersing themselves in the diverse culinary cultures of various countries and regions. Attendees enjoyed traditional games and cultural performances by both Vietnamese and international artists, and the chance to learn from renowned chefs and artisans who breathe life into ingredients, transforming them into exceptional culinary creations that reflect Vietnam's rich heritage./.
