Artist Bay Nghia has become famous for his talent in making paintings from lotus leaves. Without going to any art school, he experimented on his own and created hundreds of beautiful paintings.

More than 100 paintings include portraits of President Ho Chi Minh, Party and State leaders, and famous people. Especially, portraits of President Ho Chi Minh and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong are the first paintings he made in his painting profession.

Immediately after the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's death was announced, artist Bay Nghia displayed a portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made from dried lotus leaf veins in his gallery, which left many people moved.

According to artist Bay Nghia, he admired General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's simplicity and dedication to the people and the country. From that special feeling, he took the time to successfully portray Mr. Trong's portrait, in gratitude.

Also according to artist Bay Nghia, when he posted a portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to express his condolences, many people called him to order this painting to offer incense in memory./.
