Promoting policy communication on multiculturalism in the context of international integration

(CPV) - On October 11, 2024, in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Communication coordinated with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the National Political Publishing House and the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper to organize the international scientific conference entitled "Policy communication on multiculturalism in the context of international integration".

The conference aimed to clarify the current situation and model of policy communication on multiculturalism; propose appropriate and creative solutions to improve the effectiveness of policy communication on multiculturalism in the context of international integration.

The event drew the participation of more than 150 delegates, including domestic and foreign experts and scientists; representatives of departments, ministries and branches; leaders of central and Hanoi press agencies; leaders of academies and institutes.

Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, delivered a speech at the conference. 

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said that with the goal of improving the capacity of policy communication in Vietnam, from 2016 to 2023, the Academy of Journalism and Communication and KOICA have successfully coordinated to organize eight international scientific conferences on policy communication within the framework of the Project to Support the Academy of Journalism and Communication to Improve the Capacity to Implement Government Policies funded by KOICA.

Dr. Nguyen Cong Dung, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, delivered the opening speech at the conference. 

In his opening speech at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Cong Dung, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, said that policy communication in general and multicultural communication in particular play a particularly important role in the sustainable development of each country. This is also an issue that Vietnam and Republic of Korea pay special attention to, invest in, and research to clarify. Practice has proven that policy communication in our country has made an important contribution to the successful implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. It is an effective information channel for authorities to promptly listen to the opinions and suggestions of business organizations and people of all walks of life, especially those directly affected by the policies. In the overall success of these activities, policy communication on multiculturalism has contributed to educating the nation's fine traditions, revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national harmony, improving people's knowledge, meeting the increasingly high, rich and diverse needs for material and spiritual life of the people; thereby, introducing the country, culture, and people of Vietnam to international friends, contributing to promoting the country's socio-economic development.

With more than 50 high-quality presentations by domestic and foreign experts, scientists, and researchers, the conference focused on highlighting new points in the Party and State's guidelines and policies on multicultural policy communication and the application of these viewpoints in communication practices; Practices, opportunities, and challenges for multicultural policy communication in the context of international integration of Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, and some countries in the world. In addition, the presentations also presented experiences, good practices, and good practices in Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, and other countries in multicultural policy communication activities; thereby proposing solutions and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of multicultural policy communication./.
