Google names Da Nang as 2020's top trending travel destination

Da Nang city of Vietnam ranks first in the list of Top 10 trending destinations for 2020.

The information was recently announced by Google.

According to the list, Da Nang was followed by Sao Paolo, Brazil; Seoul, the Republic of Korea; Tokyo, Japan; Tel Aviv, Israel; Marseille, France; Vienna, Austria; Bangkok, Thailand; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Perth, Australia.

Google’s research methodology compares the number of hotel searches with travel dates in 2020 to a similar assessment of searches from 2018 for travel dates in 2019 to form the list.

Da Nang was also named as the top trending summer vacation destination in 2019 by American Express Travel based off its US Card Member’s proprietary booking data and year-on-year growth.

The central coastal city topped the list with growth of 97% thanks to the expansion of new modernist hotels, apartments and restaurants.

The city welcomed 3.5 million foreign tourists in 2019, up 22.5% over 2018, with the highest number of arrivals coming from the Republic of Korea, China, Japan and Hong Kong (China).

Vietnamese photographers win big prizes at India’s photo contest

Vietnamese photographers have won many prizes at the first International Photography Awards of India’s Apawards.

Photo journalist Viet Van from Lao dong newspaper won four prizes, with a Golden Prize for his work “Little Angels” (tourism category).

Viet Van also got a Silver Prize for “Energy of Youth” (street category), along with two certificates of Honorable Mention for “Thinker” (portrait category) and “Ritual Practice” (freedom category).

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hong got one Golden Prize, one Silver Prize, and one Honorable Mention, Doan Hin Hoan seized one Bronze Prize, and Doan Phuoc Sau got one Honorable Mention.

US photographer Eddie Harwell won the Grand Prize.

According to the organising board, the winning works will be published in the 2019 world photography awards book.

Vietjet Air launches new routes linking Can Tho with Taiwan, RoK

The first two international flight routes connecting Can Tho, the hub city of Mekong Delta region with Taipei and Seoul, the capital cities of Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea were launched by Vietjet Air.

The two new routes linking Can Tho with Taipei and Seoul will pave the way for locals and tourists to travel by safe, modern airway and at the same time promote the demand of tourism, trade, studying abroad thus offering more opportunities to explore attractions at the destinations.

The Can Tho - Taipei route operates four return flights per week, starting from January 10th, 2020. The flight departs from Can Tho at 12h40 and arrives in Taipei at 17h10. The return flight takes off from Taipei at 18h10 and lands in Can Tho at 20h55 (local times).

The Can Tho - Seoul route will operate three return flights per week starting from January 16th, 2020. The flight departs from Can Tho at 16h50 and arrives in Seoul (Incheon) at 23h55. The return flight takes off from Seoul at 02h30 and lands in Can Tho at 06h20 (local times)./.
