Developing tour to explore Thuong Tin’s craft villages in Hanoi

The Hanoi Department of Tourism and the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district are developing a tour named “Duyen Thai Craft Village Art”, reported VNA.

Deputy Director of the department Tran Trung Hieu said that implementing the municipal Party Committee’s Programme No. 06-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 on developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilised Hanoians in the 2021-2025 period", the tourism department is developing unique experiential tourism products associated with the values of heritage - relics and craft villages along the "South Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" tourism route in Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen districts in 2024.

The tourism programme "Duyen Thai Craft Village Art" in Thuong Tin district focuses on introducing unique values associated with the spiritual culture and folk beliefs of the Vietnamese people in Ha Thai lacquer village and Phuc Am votive paper-making village in Duyen Thai commune.

Phuc Am village is famous for its production of votive paper and offerings associated with the spiritual culture and practice of worshipping the Mother Goddess of the Three Realms of the Vietnamese people that was recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in 2016.

Meanwhile, Ha Thai lacquer craft village has existed and developed for more than 200 years.

The tour to the two villages is expected to be launched soon. Hanoi is home to 1,350 craft villages.

Vietnam Airlines promotes tourism in Germany

According to VNA, Vietnam Airlines, in collaboration with the Tourism Departments of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Sai Gon Tourist Group, and Munich Airport recently held a promotion programme in Munich to popularise Vietnam’s tourism and culture and to enhance tourism cooperation with European countries.

The programme was part of a series of activities to launch the national flag carrier’s first nonstop flight to Germany’s third largest city and mark the 20th anniversary of the Vietnam – Germany air route.

Vietnam Airlines Executive Vice President Le Duc Canh said Vietnam, boasting unique cultural heritage, stunning beaches, and diverse cultural and culinary experiences, has been an ideal destination for international visitors, including those from Europe, adding the company is proud to be a bridge that brings European travelers to the nation.

In the framework of the programme, Vietnam Airlines representatives signed Memoranda of Understanding on aviation and tourism with Saigontourist Group, Saigontourist Travel, Studiosus Reisen Munchen GmbH, and Kuoni Global Travel Services Limited. The deals will not only contribute to promoting trade and tourism between Vietnam and Germany but also offer opportunities for competent sides to share experience, improve service quality, and develop sustainable tourism offerings.

Two decades ago, Vietnam Airlines started operating an air route between Vietnam and Germany. To date, it has served over 3.1 million passengers.

The carrier officially launched its first direct flight between Vietnam and Munich, the capital of Bavaria state, on October 5.

To the end of 2024 and in 2025, it will operate four direct routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Germany’s Frankfurt and Munich. Modern wide-body aircraft are used on the long-haul flights.

Aircraft bearing image symbolizing 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France ties joins Vietjet’s fleet

Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on October 9 welcomed a new aircraft bearing the image symbolizing the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - France diplomatic relations, reported VNA.

The welcome ceremony was attended by senior representatives from the French Consulate General.

The new aircraft has been delivered on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-France Strategic Partnership; and to celebrate the success of the Francophonie Summit in Paris, which gathered representatives from nearly 100 member countries. More especially, it’s right after Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to elevate the Vietnam - France relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The image highlights the strong bilateral ties in culture, education, history, and economy. The symbol with its white, blue, red, and yellow colors, prominently features the Eiffel Tower and the traditional Vietnamese Ao dai, standing out against the fuselage of Vietjet new-generation aircraft, attracting all onlookers at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Earlier, on October 7, the new aircraft was officially handed over to Vietjet by Airbus at Orly Airport (Paris), under the witness of Party General Secretary and President To Lam. It rained both at the ceremony in Orly airport and upon the aircraft’s arrival at Tan Son Nhat, signaling good luck, plenty and prosperity for the people of both nations.

In 2018, marking the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations, Vietjet aircraft bearing the commemorative symbol was also delivered under the witness of then Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The aircraft spread its wings and made a strong impression on international friends.

The new aircraft numbered VN-A539 is the 106th to join Vietjet’s vibrant fleet and the 80th one delivered by the leading aircraft manufacturer Airbus. Vietjet’s partnerships with French, German, UK, and other European entities have not only contributed to job creation in Europe but also offered greater flying opportunities for passengers, fostering aviation, tourism, and economic development in various countries.

Thailand-Vietnam Cultural Street Gate sets new symbol of bilateral ties

According to VNA, after nearly a year of construction, the Thailand-Vietnam Cultural Street Gate was inaugurated in the Thai northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom on October 10 to the welcome of over 1,000 Vietnamese expatriates from across Thailand.

Speaking at the event, Acting Governor of Nakhon Phanom province Ranida Laungthitisakul hailed the gate as a new cultural landmark, embodying the unique identities, shared history and strong relationship between Thailand and Vietnam.

She expressed confidence that the structure will become a major tourist attraction in the locality, where Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh used to stay for a period of time nearly 100 years ago during his journey to seek way for national salvation.

Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong praised efforts by the Vietnamese community in Nakhon Phanom in building the gate, which reflects their sentiment towards the homeland as well as their contribution to the local culture. The gate, together with the Ho Chi Minh-linked relic sites in the northeast of Thailand, is not only a symbol of the two countries' friendship but also where their rich culures converge and generate new values.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung hoped that the gate will not only contribute to the province's overall development but also help to foster cultural exchanges between the two nations.

The gate, whose construction started on December 11, 2023, was funded with about 490,000 THB (14,000 USD) by the Nakhon Phanom city budget. Standing at 11.8 metres in width and 11.4 meters in height, it serves as a symbol of Thamrong Prasit road. It is expected to facilitate economic development along the route and in nearby areas while boosting tourism in Nakhon Phanom.

Hai Phong to host Belgian Culture and Food Festival 2024

The Belgian Culture and Food Festival (B.Fest) 2024, the fourth of its kind, will take place from October 25 to 27 at the Vietnam – Czechoslovakia Friendship Labour and Culture Palace in Hai Phong to provide unique cultural experiences for locals, reported VOV.

Addressing a press conference on B.Fest held in Hai Phong on October 9, Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Karl Van Den Bossche noted that the event has become an annual Belgian cultural event in the northern port city, offering a wide variety of Belgian beers, food, music, and other entertainment services to local residents.

Running with the theme of “Awaken the Senses”, B.Fest 2024 invites attendees to go on a captivating journey through Belgium's renowned culinary culture.

The festival will showcase an unprecedented selection of nearly 30 kinds of Belgian beer, many of which have not been introduced in the previous editions.

Numerous activities will get underway, including firework shows, a music concert, performances of Belgian chefs, and mini games, among many other exciting activities.

The festival not only brings world-famous beers, but also aims to stage an explosive entertainment party, blending sound, light, and unique festival decor.

Local singers will join alongside renowned DJs such as Alexandra and Belgian DJ Loveboat (Discobar Galaxie) who will heat up the festive atmosphere with modern EDM tracks during the three nights.

A seminar on innovation and sustainable development will be held on October 25 to introduce Hai Phong's investment environment to both domestic and foreign investors.

The event will be jointly organised by the Embassy of Belgium, the DEEP C Industrial Zones – the largest Belgian-invested project in Vietnam, and the Belgian and Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. It was first held in 2019 before returning in 2022.

Most recently, B.Fest 2023 welcomed around 6,000 arrivals, becoming a cultural bridge to connect the two countries’ peoples and promote mutual understanding./.
