Hoi An – favourite hotspot among Vietnamese tourists

The ancient city of Hoi An located in the central province of Quang Nam is a favourite hotspot among Vietnamese tourists for the upcoming New Year holiday, VOV reported information given by travel agency Booking.com.

Other destinations to make the list of the top 10 most searched destination in Vietnam were Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Sa Pa, and Mui Ne.

The ancient city is located beside the Thu Bon river and boasts a unique architectural style of tube-shaped houses adjoining one another along the streets.

Visitors to the town also have the chance to visit Cau (Bridge) pagoda, the famous Japanese corner, Chinese-style pagodas, and French-style cafes.

The UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site also impresses its visitors with the peaceful life of local people, along with its unique culture, tradition, and beauty.

Ho Guom Opera House named among the world’s 10 best opera houses

The World Travel Awards has just announced the list of the top 10 best opera houses in the world on its website 10best. Among them, Ho Guom Opera (Hanoi) is the only representative of Vietnam featured on the list by tourism experts of the World Travel Awards, reported NDO.

The site is a culturally iconic structure of Hanoi. Ho GuomOpera was inaugurated on July 9, 2023, at the intersection of four major streets in central Hanoi, only a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake.

The theatre was invested in and built by the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi City and completed in just 22 months.

It features a large auditorium with a 900-guest capacity and a smaller hall accommodating 500 guests.

The Ho Guom Opera House is a place that brings together a blend of modern and traditional cultural and artistic spaces, serving as a venue in which to host cultural and artistic programmes, conferences and seminars, as well as large-scale cultural and political events.

First Vietnam Pho Day opens in South Africa

According to VNA, the first Vietnam Pho (noodle soup served with beef or chicken) Day in South Africa opened on December 9, in the capital city of Pretoria.

The event was one of the initiatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in the “Rainbow country”, in coordination with Vietnamese representative agencies in the host country, to spread the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine to local and international friends.

Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa Hoang Sy Cuong said that the Vietnamese Pho Day was also the last in a series of events organised to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 1993-2023).

Dinners had an opportunity to enjoy Vietnamese pho with beef and chicken as well as learning about ingredients and how to cook the traditional dish.

Besides pho, traditional fried spring rolls, Vietnamese coffee, cakes and confectionary products were introduced during the day.

About 500 bowls of pho, 1,500 fried spring rolls, and instant Vietnamese coffee were served free of charge at the event./.
