The VSIP Lang Son covers an area of nearly 600 ha in two communes of Ho Son and Hoa Thang in Huu Lung district. The project has a total investment of 6.361 trillion VND (nearly 250 million USD) with the investor VSIP JSC contributing over 954 billion VND.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed and go into operation in the third quarter of 2025 while the second phase will complete in September 2026 and the third phase in September 2027. The industrial park is expected to create about 40,000 jobs when all the three phases turn operational.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Lang Son provincial People’s Committee Ho Tien Thieu said that the IP will bring great benefits to the investor, help to increase the province’s industrial production value and goods production value, create more jobs and incomes for local people, and contribute to the local socio-economic development.
The industrial park also helps show the province’s efforts in implementing administrative reforms, improving business investment climate and attracting investor, he said.
Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam said that the Vietnam-Singapore IPs (VSIPs) is a symbol of bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam.
The unprecedented expansion of the chain of VSIPs in recent years reflects not only the strong interest of foreign investors in Vietnam but also the success of the Vietnamese Government in creating a favourable investment environment, he said.
The diplomat expressed a hope that the VSIP Lang Son will play a key role in facilitating higher-quality investments from Singapore, especially in infrastructure development, supply chain services and logistics, green economy and agricultural processing, which are areas with strong potential and ample room for further development.
The Singapore business federation will work with the Lang Son authorities to explore opportunities in those areas for companies from Singapore.
Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 kicks off
The Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 themed “Nha Trang bay- sparkling pearl” opened in Nha Trang city, the south – central province of Khanh Hoa, on June 13 evening, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
The event, the second of its kind, aims to honour the beauty of Nha Trang bay, contributing to popularising the beauty, potential, and strengths of Nha Trang, towards attracting more holiday-makers, and domestic and international investors, thus contributing to the locality’s socio-economic development.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Vietnam National Authority of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh highlighted the vital role played by the tourism industry, calling it an important comprehensive economic sector for promoting the development of cooperation, cultural exchange, and international integration.
Vietnam's tourism sector has recorded breakthroughs in recent years, become a highlight on the global tourism map, and been recognised by the international community with numerous top awards, he said.
In the first five months of this year, Vietnam welcomed about 7.6 million international visitors and served 52.5 million domestic tourists, earning an estimated 352 trillion VND (over 13.83 billion USD).
Nha Trang is emerging as an attractive coastal tourist city for both domestic and international visitors, serving as the gateway and heart of the south-central coast and central highlands regions, Khanh said, adding that the locality is also a premier location for hosting international events.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Thieu said with many cultural activities and festivals reflecting traditional and contemporary culture values, the festival is part of the locality’s efforts to preserve and promote the cultural essence of the nation in general, and the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa region in particular.
The four-day festival features a string of cultural and sports activities, including a 200-pavilion fair showcasing tourism products and cuisine.
The festival is expected to welcome 350,000 – 400,000 local and international visitors.
Vietnam to host international DanceSport competition for first time
The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) World Challenge Cup Rising Stars Latin and Standard is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from July 12 to July 14, attracting the participation of over 1,500 local and foreign dancers worldwide, Radio the Voice of Vietnam reported.
The tournament will be held in Vietnam for the first time and is set to feature diverse events, including open standard and latin youth, international open standard and latin adult, and open solo latin youth.
Hundreds of local dancers from 80 clubs nationwide will attend the event, including the duo Phan Hien-Thu Huong, who were champions at SEA Games 31; and Ngoc An-To Uyen, runner-up of the Vietnam latin tournament.
Khanh Thi, a grand master of Vietnamese DanceSport, will work as head of the judging panel.

She is notable for winning many awards in DanceSport, including two Vietnam Open Dancesport Championship Awards, an Asian Indoor Games (AIG) Award, and a SEA Games.
Thi was a judge of the gameshow Dancing with The Stars (Bước Nhảy Hoàn Vũ Việt Nam) and So You Think You Can Dance Việt Nam (Thử Thách Cùng Bước Nhảy), as well as a member of the organizing board of about 20 dance competitions in the nation.
An opening ceremony of the WDSF World Challenge Cup Rising Stars Latin and Standard will be held on July 13 at Military Zone 7 Competition Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Millions of people are expected to watch the tournament live via channels such as TV Online, Facebook, and YouTube.
Hanoi autumn festival to return in September
The second Hanoi autumn festival is scheduled to take place at dedicated areas around Hoan Kiem (Returned Sword) Lake from September 12 to September 15, aiming to promote both the capital’s autumn destinations and tourism products, Radio the Voice of Vietnam said.
The festival will open with a music gala held at the flower garden area of Ba Kieu Temple on September 13, with the function focusing on the theme of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day on October 10.

The highlight of the festival will be a display of 150 stalls which will showcase an array of products from trade villages, special dishes, and gifts during the fall season. They will be organised on the iconic old streets situated around Hoan Kiem Lake, including Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Thach streets, as well as the Octagonal House area.
The highlight of the festival will be a re-enactment of local people waving flags and flowers to welcome the victorious army on Capital Liberation Day on October 10, 1954.
Visitors will also be treated to several mesmerizing dance performances, including both folk and sports dances, along with a fashion show featuring the elegant Ao Dai (traditional long dress).
Young attendees will have the opportunity to participate in parades, engage in painting activities, and visit exhibitions displaying children’s artwork.
Furthermore, a space introducing Hanoi’s flowers throughout the year, as well as an entertainment area will get underway, with the occasion seeking to showcase the distinctive values of cultural heritage around the capital.
Plenty of Hanoi’s delicacies, including Phở (noodle soup), Chả Cá (grilled fish), Bún ốc Hồ Tây (West Lake snail noodles), and Phú Thượng sticky rice will be featured in a culinary space and are expected to bring unforgettable memories to locals and visitors.
The first Hanoi autumn festival was organized back in 2023, with the occasion drawing around 80,000 visitors and helping to promote the beauty and cultural value of the capital during the autumn season./.
