Dien Bien’s historical relic sites busy with tourists

Before the holiday of April 30 - May 1 and the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, every day, the northwestern province of Dien Bien greets about 5,000 visitors.
One week before the April 30 - May 1 holiday, Dien Bien tourism enters its peak period. In 2024, this province hosts Visit Vietnam Year and the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Dien Bien currently welcomes about 5,000 visitors from all over the country every day.
 
 
A1 Hill, a relic site from the Dien Bien Phu victory, was crowded with visitors learning about the heroic historical days of the 1954 Dien Bien Phu battle.
On this occasion, 1,000 banyan trees are planted at historical sites in Dien Bien such as Hill A1, Him Lam Resistance Center and Do Cat Tunnel.
Ms. Nguyen Le Huong from a travel company in Hanoi said: “We are honored to be at Dien Bien on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. I hope that green tourism will develop more and more sustainably.”

Historical, cultural and spiritual relics in Dien Bien attracted a large number of tourists to visit, experience and learn about history.
These days, the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum is busy with many groups of domestic and international tourists. According to statistics, since the beginning of April, the museum has welcomed more than 86,000 visitors.
 
From April 1 to the end of May, the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum increases its opening hours to include Friday and Saturday evenings, May 6 and 7, starting from 19h30 to 21h00.
Located in the special national relic complex of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield, the Dien Bien Campaign Headquarters relic also welcomes numerous tourists.

Restaurants serving ethnic specialties on this occasion are always full. Some restaurants also put on musical performances to serve customers.

In the first 4 months of 2024, the number of tourists to Dien Bien reached 845,000, an increase of 1.86 times over the same period last year. In 2024, Dien Bien hosts the Visit Vietnam Year and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The province is expected to welcome about 1.3 million visitors./.
