Vietnam, Netherlands cooperate in water management and climate change adaptation

(CPV) - The 7th meeting of the Vietnam – Netherlands Inter-Governmental Committee on climate change adaptation and water management will take place in Hanoi on April 9th, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) has reported.

Accordingly, the cooperation is expected to focus on university and post-university education on climate change adaptation and water management; business and trade; the relationship between agriculture and water; cooperation among cities; Red River cooperation; the Facility for Infrastructure Development (ORIO); the Development Related Infrastructure Investment Vehicle (DRIVE); and the Mekong Delta Plan.

During the meeting, the two sides will actively dialogue for tackling difficulties and take advantage of technical support to carry out cooperative activities.

The 6th meeting was held in the Netherlands on April 19th, 2017, in which the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in agriculture, water management, education and training to address challenges in climate change adaptation. Additionally, they promoted new contents of cooperation based on Vietnam’s potentials and the Netherlands’ tradition, making Vietnam – Netherlands cooperation typical for cooperation in climate change adaptation among countries in the world./.
