Austrian businesses donate medical equipment to Vietnam

More than 1.5 million COVID-19 test kits of all kinds and 30,000 N95 medical masks were donated to Vietnam by Austrian businesses and overseas Vietnamese businesses.

On September 6, in Vienna, Austria, Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received leaders of IMC Krem University of Applied Sciences, Weforyou Group, Christof System Group and some overseas Vietnamese who came to donate medical equipment and supplies.

IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences - IMC Krems, a private Austrian university offers intensive curricula in business, digitalization and engineering, health and life sciences. This is also an Austrian university that has cooperation activities with many Vietnamese universities in numerous different fields.

Vietnamese NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the cooperation activities of IMC Krems with universities and training institutions of Vietnam; suggested that IMC Krems continue to research and strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese universities to train students in areas where the university has strengths and Vietnam has demand, such as business, digitalization and engineering, medicine and science and technology.

At the meeting with General Director of Christof Systems Company (a subsidiary of Christof Industries) Wolfgang Nestler, an enterprise specializing in providing solutions and technologies for waste treatment, especially medical waste, the Vietnamese NA Chairman highly appreciated Christof Systems' solutions and products in waste treatment in general and in healthcare in particular.

He said that in the process of socio-economic development, Vietnam always aims for sustainable development, in which economic efficiency must go hand in hand with environmental protection; specialized waste treatment models suitable for district hospitals and commune health facilities. These are issues that Vietnam is currently very concerned about. Therefore, he suggested the company discuss and work with ministries and sectors for specific instructions on participating in medical waste treatment projects at medical facilities in Vietnam.

Receiving leaders of Weforyou Group that gives Vietnam 30,000 N95 medical masks and 10,000 antigen test kits, the NA Chairman thanked the corporation for providing Vietnam essential items for pandemic prevention, and requested Weforyou to coordinate and discuss closely with the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria and relevant ministries to implement the project successfully and effectively in Vietnam, with research and investment in manufacturing materials and equipment medical equipment in Vietnam in the near future.

The National Assembly Chairman proposed corporations, companies and research partners support Vietnam in the production of medical equipment for pandemic prevention and control, and at the same time help Vietnam accelerate the pace of the COVID-19 vaccinations, to quickly achieve herd immunity.

In the afternoon of the same day, the NA Chairman received businessman Tran Dang Khoa, an overseas Vietnamese in Germany and the family of Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of Thaco Group, when they presented Vietnam 1.2 million COVID-19 test kits. On this occasion, Mr. Tran Dang Khoa also lobbied ME Capital's Chairman Menahem Esnhoren to donate 300,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits to Vietnam.

The NA Chairman acknowledged and appreciated the noble gesture of overseas Vietnamese and international friends for their love and support for Vietnam. /.
