The delegation went to the accommodations of COVID-affected Cambodian students living in dormitories and hostels in Ninh Kieu and Binh Thuy Districts, allocating 17 presents.

Each gift includes VND500,000 in cash and necessities such as rice, instant noodles, vegetables, antiseptic liquid, face shield and face masks.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Giang, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Union of Friendship Organizations, said that the presents aim to ease the difficulties of Cambodian students who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The program aims to give more motivation to Cambodian students to overcome the difficult time when they cannot return to their home country; at the same time, contributing to fostering the traditional solidarity and friendly relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia,” she said.

Leung Ylang, a Cambodian student studying at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, shared that he was very grateful for the gifts from the Vietnamese city. “Due to the pandemic, I have not been able to go home for more than 2 years. I am very happy to receive the attention of the local authority in your country,” he added./.
