At the handover ceremony to the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Vu Hai Ha briefly reported on the results of the trip, stating that the participation of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the NA delegation affirmed the initiative and responsibilities of the Vietnamese NA in multilateral parliamentary diplomatic activities. Bilateral meetings and contacts have contributed to consolidating and strengthening Vietnam's foreign relations in general and the relationship between the Vietnamese NA and parliaments of other countries in particular.
The trip has created momentum for the development of the NA's foreign affairs on a bilateral and multilateral basis, strongly promoting the role and position of the NA in regional and international parliamentary cooperation mechanisms; and enhanced high-level contact with leaders of parliaments of other countries, to exchange information and share experiences on parliamentary activities as well as measures for economic recovery and development in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The mission achieved comprehensive results in politics, foreign affairs, diplomacy in service of the economy, vaccine diplomacy and overseas Vietnamese work.
One of the highlights of the mission was the concrete results of vaccine diplomacy and cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Up to now, within the framework of the business trip, Belgium and Slovakia have provided 200,000 doses of vaccines and pledged to support and cede millions of doses of vaccines.
Many organizations, businesses and individuals are providing medical equipment and advice, especially COVID-19 test kits with a total value of more than VND1.028 trillion, excluding 200,000 doses of vaccines sponsored by Belgium and Slovakia and other different medical equipment.
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and Austria donated VND365 million to Ho Chi Minh City and the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund.
In addition, within the framework of the visit, a number of contracts related to test kit production, vaccine research and production were signed.
Specifically, T&T Group signed with a German partner to transfer PCR test kit production technology worth EUR80 million; and with a Spanish partner, the cooperation contract for phase 3 clinical trial and vaccine production and order, with the quantity of 50 million doses, worth EUR375 million. The total value of the contracts was VND12.285 trillion.
Vingroup and Xenothera SAS Company signed a cooperation agreement to conduct a phase 3 clinical trial in Vietnam of Xenothera's anti-COVID-19 treatment, XAV-19; supplying XAV-19 products to Vietnam and transferring technology to produce XAV-19 products in Vietnam./.
