Dong Nai signs cooperation agreement with Korean province

The authorities of Dong Nai Province and Gyeongnam Province (the Republic of Korea) signed a cooperation agreement on May 2, in Bien Hoa city, to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh highly appreciated the contributions of Korean businesses investing in Vietnam, and in Dong Nai in particular.

The RoK is the leading investor in Dong Nai in terms of number of projects and investment capital with nearly USD7.3 billion.

Recently, the authorities of a number of localities in Dong Nai and Gyeongnam have had a cooperative relationship, through which there have been many activities on cultural exchange and educational cooperation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Park Wan Soo, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, expressed his hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in many fields, especially in development of human resources and next-generation talents. “Cooperation is in the spirit of win-win,” he said.

Also at the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thong Nhat district Mai Van Hien and Head of Geochang district Koo In Mo signed a cooperation agreement between the two sides on labor.

In addition, Dong Nai University and Gyeongnam Geochang University signed a cooperation agreement on human resource training.

Dong Nai is located in the southern key economic region of Vietnam with a population of more than 3.2 million people. For decades, Dong Nai has been among the top provinces in the country in terms of industrial development and budget revenue, and has made very important contributions to the Vietnamese economy.

Currently, Dong Nai is investing in a series of key national infrastructure projects, including the Long Thanh International Airport with a capital of up to USD16.6 billion. This is the largest project in Vietnam's history, opening up many opportunities for breakthrough socio-economic development for Dong Nai and the entire southern key economic region.

Meanwhile, Gyeongnam is in the east of the RoK with a population of more than 3.2 million people. Gyeongnam is the third most developed economic locality in the RoK, with average income per capita higher than the national average.

Gyeongnam is also a fairly developed locality in terms of education, with many of Korea's leading universities attracting students from many countries, including Vietnam. Gyeongnam annually attracts a large number of Vietnamese workers./.
