Ho Chi Minh City creates favorable conditions for Turkish businesses

At the reception, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan congratulated Ambassador Korhan Kemix on beginning his working term in Vietnam. Regarding bilateral relations between Vietnam and Turkey, Mr. Vo Van Hoan said that the two countries have made important progress, especially in economic cooperation. Two-way trade turnover in 2022 exceeded USD2.4 billion, an increase of 26.3% compared to 2021. In addition to promoting economic, political - diplomatic and cultural cooperation, Vietnam and Turkey care for, support and stand by each other during difficult times.

There are currently about 400 Turkish businesses operating in Ho Chi Minh City and many projects are progressing well. As Vietnam's economic engine, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to contribute to realizing the goal of increasing export turnover between the two countries to USD5 billion by 2027, according to Mr. Hoan.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan expressed his hope that Ambassador Korhan Kemix will work with the city to organize trade and investment promotion activities to promote the cooperative development advantages of both sides, especially in priority development areas of Ho Chi Minh City such as the semiconductor chip industry. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City hopes that the two sides will soon establish a Turkish Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to strongly promote cooperative relations between the two countries. "Ho Chi Minh City is always welcoming, willing to support and create conditions for businesses and investors, including Turkish businesses," he said.

Ambassador Korhan Kemix expressed his impression of the dynamic development and strong growth rate of Ho Chi Minh City, and highly appreciated the pioneering role of Ho Chi Minh City in realizing trade turnover between Turkey and Vietnam.

Sharing the working program in Ho Chi Minh City, Ambassador Korhan Kemix said he met with a number of Turkish businesses to discuss projects. He also emphasized that during his term of office, he will make efforts to promote friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries./.
