Malaysian Foreign Minister pays official visit to Vietnam

At the invitation of Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Zambry Abdul Kadir will pay an official visit to Vietnam and co-chair the 7th session of the Vietnam – Malaysia Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation on July 19-20.

In 2023, Vietnam and Malaysia celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (March 30, 1973 - March 30, 2023).
Over the past 50 years, Vietnam-Malaysia relations have been continuously consolidated and developed. The relationship between the two countries has always developed well, especially after the two countries upgraded to a strategic partnership in 2015.
Malaysia is one of the 10 largest trading partners of Vietnam. Bilateral trade turnover has increased steadily over the years; in 2022 it reached nearly USD14.8 billion. Vietnam and Malaysia both attach great importance to further strengthening trade cooperation towards balanced and sustainable development, striving to achieve the goal of bringing bilateral trade turnover to USD18 billion by 2025./.
