Mulberry season in Hanoi

Mulberry colour changes from red to purple.
Farmer Do Thi Loan says her family can harvest up to 50 kilograms of mulberry per day, earning VND700,000.

According to Do Thi Hoa, a plant protection officer, the older the trees are, the more productive they are.
Farmers say sunny days will help mulberry ripen faster and be sweeter than rainy days.

The harvest season often starts in early March to the end of April.

This year, the mulberry is sold at VND15,000-20,000 per kilogram.

It can be eaten directly or soaked in sugar.
