Vietnam Culture Week 2019 was opened by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism at the Lao National Cultural Hall in Vientiane, on December 5th.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien emphasized that Vietnam Cultural Week 2019 in Laos is a cultural exchange activity with great significance in order to realize the agreement between high level leaders of the two countries on strengthening Vietnam - Laos relations, as well as carry out cultural and tourism cooperation plans between the two countries.

The minister affirmed that the Week was very significant when it was organized on the occasion of the opening ceremony of new headquarters of the Vietnam Cultural Centre in Laos.

He believed that the event will be an important landmark, continuing to contribute to strengthening the special relations between the two nations.

Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Kikeo Khaykhamphithouse, for his part, welcomed the organization of the event in Laos, adding that it demonstrated the special friendship and solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

During the event, artists from the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre performed unique items praising the homeland and people of Vietnam and Laos.

After the opening ceremony, the artists will tour in Laos to serve the local audience and Vietnamese people in the country./.
