A fund to support Khmer - Vietnamese Women’s Association members in difficult circumstances will be established.

The Khmer-Vietnamese Association announced the decision allowing the establishment of the fund at a ceremony held in Phnom Penh on March 7th, marking International Women’s Day (March 8th).

The fund will also be used for humanitarian and charity programs in support of women’s development.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Pham Thi Hanh, President of the Khmer - Vietnamese Women’s Association in Cambodia, highlighted contributions of the association’s chapters to community activities, and health care and education of Khmer people of Vietnamese origin. She emphasized that such activities need stable funding.

While Mr. Sim Chy, President of the Khmer - Vietnamese Association in Cambodia, stressed women’s role in the development of future generations and the significance of promoting gender equality, which is an important target to build the wealth and happy life of each family, and of society./.
