The flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, Vietjet Air, and relevant agencies of Malaysia.
The passengers on board included pregnant women, people with underlying illnesses, children under 18 years old, the elderly, workers with expired contracts, and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.
The Vietnamese Embassy also sent its staff members to the airport to assist the citizens to complete all required procedures before boarding the flights.
Disease prevention measures were strictly carried out during the flight to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Right after landing at the Cam Ranh International Airport in the central province of Khanh Hoa, the crew members and passengers were given heath examinations and quarantined, in line with regulations.
Under the Prime Minister’s directions, Vietnamese authorities and overseas missions plan to arrange more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens, depending on their needs and quarantine capacity at home./.
