The dialogue was about taking advantage of the free trade port, and strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Hainan province and ASEAN countries.
On behalf of the Consul Generals of ASEAN countries in Guangzhou, Consul General Vu Viet Anh spoke highly of the potential of the Hainan free trade port model.
This shows the determination of the government of China in continuing to promote opening up to the world, and is expected to create open policy systems, contributing to promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, creating favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to access the Chinese market and optimizing the supply chain.
In the context of regional cooperation mechanisms being implemented such as RCEP, Hainan Free Trade Port will play an increasingly important role in strengthening economic connectivity between China and the region.
Introducing the economic cooperation potential between Vietnam and Hainan province, Consul General Vu Viet Anh expressed his belief in ensuring the principles of a free, fair, and rule-of-law trading port, as well as ensuring maritime security and safety in the surrounding waters. Hainan Free Trade Port will contribute to making Hainan province a new growth pole of China, promoting a Vietnam-China strategic cooperative partnership, as well as contributing to peace, development and prosperity in the region.
At the dialogue, the Consul Generals of ASEAN countries in Guangzhou together with the leaders of Hainan province, Haikou city and local businesses, focused on exchanging and learning about the policy system and implementation roadmap of Hainan Free Trade Port, cooperation prospects between Hainan province and ASEAN countries within the RCEP framework, as well as measures and specific cooperation fields to focus on to further promote cooperation between enterprises of ASEAN countries and enterprises of Hainan province.
The leaders of Hainan province expressed their hope that the Vietnamese side would soon open a commercial office at Hainan Free Trade Port./.
