According to information from the Japanese press, from the end of February, the government of Japan will open the door to those with short-term business visas and self-sufficient international students who are about to finish their courses and need to attend graduation ceremonies.

The number of people in the above stage is limited to about 1,000 people/day, and will gradually increase in each stage.

In addition, at the beginning of March, Japan plans to remove all limitations for those entering the country with visas such as trainees, first-time international students and many different types of visas. At this stage, the number of entries can be up to 5,000 people/day.

Priority people for entry consideration during this period are researchers, engineers and workers who bring "benefits to the community".

The Japanese government will consider shortening the quarantine period upon arrival to 3 days or less than 7 days. To be eligible for entry, tourists, both foreigners and Japanese citizens, must receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and undergo testing.

The government of Japan also plans to simplify the necessary procedures and screening process.

On February 11, the Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply (VAMAS) petitioned the Japanese government to allow Vietnamese trainees to enter Japan after a long delay.

Mr. Doan Mau Diep, Chairman of VAMAS, said that the National Association for Support and Development of Foreign Human Resources in Japan (NAGOMi) also recently sent a request to notify the entry opening time accompanied by thorough epidemic prevention measures to the Japanese government; ask the government to support post-entry quarantine costs; request a temporary extension of the intake frame after the opening of entry.

In fact, the entry into Japan of foreign workers in general and Vietnamese workers in particular has been suspended several times from 2021 to now due to the negative impact of the pandemic./.
