Quang Ninh province: Northern district boosts poverty reduction

Van Don district in the northern province of Quang Ninh is striving to complete the program on boosting socio-economic development in extremely disadvantaged communes (Program 135) by bringing five villages out of extremely disadvantaged conditions.

Additionally, the district will also strive to reduce the number of poor families by 39 and the number of nearly-poor families by 28; invest in building two village roads, a cultural house, a small dyke and an irrigation work, two water supply constructions; and help 100% of extremely disadvantaged villages gain access to hygienic water.
To realize the targets, favourable conditions will be provided for extremely disadvantaged communes to expand production, especially in breeding, plantation, forestry and fisheries.
Apart from this, advanced technologies will be transferred to local residents so that they can be applied in economic development models./.
