Northern province cares for revolutionary contributors

According to the Department of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs of the northern province of Quang Ninh, the province is realising preferential policies for some 14,000 revolutionary contributors, with assistance of over VND20 billion per month.

This year the province has planned to support over 4,800 revolutionary contributors, with capital of over VND6.3 billion, of which the provincial nursing centre for wounded soldiers and revolutionary contributors has organised 20 nursing program for over 1,800 of them in the first half of the year.
In terms of caring for Vietnamese heroic mothers, all living Vietnamese heroic mothers are being given care and support.
In the upcoming time, the province targets to increase care for revolutionary contributors and their relatives, with the goal to help 100% of revolutionary contributors’ families to have average or above average living standards for their region; and help 100% of revolutionary contributors’ families have stable houses and accessing spiritual and social services by 2015 .
The province has also planned to better policies for revolutionary contributors, improve their spiritual and material lives, build policies on assisting their relatives in expanding production and accessing social services such as healthcare and education, set up a project supporting housing for those who do not have land and housing, and improve revolutionary contributors’ lives.
In 2012, the province built and repaired houses for 234 beneficiaries, and spent nearly VND13 billion assisting revolutionary contributors and their families, as well as repairing cemeteries./.
