Northern province’s cultivation area reaches over 15,000 hectares

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the northern province of Quang Ninh said that as of late July 2013, the province had cultivated crops on an area of over 15,000 hectares, accounting for over 45% of the year’s target and over 104% compared to the same period last year.

Of which the rice area was 12,500 hectares, batata area 450 hectares, soybean over 150 hectares, and vegetables 1,270 hectares.
To ensure good development of the crop, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has asked relevant agencies to help farmers prevent epidemics.
In August, the department will instruct the preparation of seeds and materials for the next crops./.
