Person preserves Dao ethnic traditional clothing

In Quang Son commune, Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province, artisan Dieng Chong Senh is devoting all her efforts to preserving the traditional clothing of the Dao ethnic minority group, by teaching the hand-sewing and embroidering techniques to younger generations.
Whenever she has time, Ms. Senh instructs her daughters and nieces to sew their ethnic traditional clothes. She carefully taught each detailed decoration. Many other young people also sought her out to learn how to make Dao traditional clothes by themselves.
Ly Thi Nga from Quang Son commune said that she was happy to learn how to make her traditional clothes and try to preserve the traditional culture of her ethnic minority group.
Ms. Chieng said that she started embroidery when she was very small. She was taught by her mother. Now, at the age of 60 years old, she still likes sewing and teaching sewing to younger generations. In 2013, she was recognized as a folklore artisan by the Vietnam Folklore Arts Association for her contribution to the preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage./.
