Totalling the first two months of the year, more than 2.2 million foreign tourists visited the country, a year-on-year rise of 33%.

This is the second consecutive time foreign tourists to Vietnam exceeded 1 million arrivals per month after the figure reached 1.007 million in January 2017, up 12.3% from the previous month and up 23.6% from the same period last year.

So, it is a positive sign for the tourism sector as Vietnam is promptly realizing Resolution 08/NQ-TW of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

If the growth is maintained, the sector will fulfil the target of receiving more than 11.5 million foreign tourists and serving 66 million domestic visitors in 2017, grossing revenue of VND460 trillion./.
