According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, since the Da Nang International Airport was expanded in May 2017, domestic and international airlines continue to open direct air routes to the central coastal city.
Notably, the Doha - Da Nang air route was launched on December 19, 2018, with 4 flights a week.
Air services from Thailand to Da Nang increased sharply to 56 flights a week (8 flights a day) operated by three carriers: Thai Air Asia, Vietjet Air and Bangkok Airways.
Bangkok Airways launched the Da Nang - Bangkok air route with 14 flights a week from March 1st, while Thai Air Asia operated the same air route with 21 flights a week also from early March. Vietjet Air also provided air services between the two cities with 21 flights a week.
This Apri, Thai Air Asia will open Chiang Mai – Da Nang route with 7 flights a week, while Malindo Airways will inaugurate Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route with 7 flights a week.
In addition, during the golden week from April 27th to May 2nd, about 26 flights from major cities of Japan are scheduled to fly to Da Nang, carrying more than 7,000 passengers. There will be 16 regular flights from Tokyo and Osaka, and 10 chartered flights from Nagoya, Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata and Fukuoka.
Thanks to the international direct flights to Da Nang, the number of foreign tourists to the hub rose significantly in the first two months of 2019, with the majority coming from key markets such as the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, the US, Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong (China)./.
