The move, co-organized by the Da Nang Department of Tourism and Da Nang international airport, aims to speed up tourism promotion of the central hub in Japan.

Currently, with the advantages of geographic location, tourism infrastructure and natural landscapes; Da Nang is appraised as a safe destination, not affected by terrorism and natural disasters. Thus, the city has received a significant shift of the Japanese tourist market, in which number of travelers under 20 year old and single female has increased.

In addition, exploitation of Japanese tourists saw remarkable efficiency as the Da Nang - Narita air route started being operated effectively. Da Nang now provides direct air services to Narita (Tokyo) and Kansai (Osaka) everyday.

Information from travel agencies showed that the number of charter flights also increased, especially during the golden week, with 9 charter flights from Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata, Nagoya and Fukuoka; using aircraft of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Jetstar.

Specifically, aiming to create favorable conditions for journeys from the center of Japan to the central region of Vietnam; Chubu International Airport (Japan) and Da Nang International Airport cooperated to promote destinations, as well as offer policies to encourage flights from the two airports.

Japan now has the biggest number of projects in Da Nang with more than 160, valued at over USD800 million, making up 16.7% of total FDI capital in the central city. However, only 10% of the capital was invested in services./.
