Foreign partners study investment opportunities in Quang Ninh province

On June 10th, the Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPP Group), together with Australian partners conducted a field trip at the Van Don Economic Zone and studied the planning of the complex recreation project with casino in Van Don District and the Hoang Gia international recreation area in Ha Long City in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Receiving the delegation, Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee presented an introduction to the projects. Accordingly, the complex recreation project with casino in Van Don district was designed for an area of 1,800 hectares. Approved by the Government, the project will be constructed with an expected capital of some USD4-5 billion. It is considered to be a key tourism project playing a strategic and breakthrough role in boosting development in the district.

The deputy chairman confirmed that the province would promptly complete the related planning process, the infrastructure and suitable policies for the creation of favourable conditions for investors.

Also, on the same day, the delegation was welcomed by Pham Minh Chinh, a Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

During the reception, Mr Chinh outlined the province’s potential, strength and orientation for development. He stressed that the province was focusing on completion of socio-economic development projects as well as important planning, training high quality human resources, boosting administrative reform, and improving traffic linking infrastructure. He emphasized the construction of the Van Don economic – administrative special zone, with preferential policies having been issued to attract investors.

He expressed his hope that the IPP Group and foreign partners would make proposals which suited investors. He believes that this would help the province successfully construct the Van Don economic special zone. He also committed that the province would do its utmost to promote the interests of investors./.
