Promoting economic, trade cooperation between Vietnam and Germany

(CPV) - Standing Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Truong Hoa Binh highly hailed the position and potential of Germany’s state of Hessen. The state plays an important role in promoting economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh hosted a reception for President of the Hessen State Parliament Boris Rhein who was on a working visit to Viet Nam on November 12th in Hanoi.

He expressed the wish that Mr. Boris Rhein would make greater contribution to the relations between Hessen State and Vietnam in particular and the Federal Republic of Germany in general.

Currently, some big business groups from the State have been operating effectively in Vietnam such as Braun Melsungen, Messer and Merck. The two sides should encourage German companies to pour capital in Vietnam in various fields such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, supporting industry, farm produce processing, and production of natural rubber products.

The Permanent Deputy PM also wishes the State’s authorities would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises such as national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), and FPT Software Company Limited to operate effectively in Hessen.

He treasured the contributions of Mr. Boris Rhein to the Vietnam - Germany University project when he held the position of Minister of Sciences and Arts of Hessen, as well as his support for the country in human resources training in the fourth Industrial Revolution.

He also suggested that, with his authority and influence, Mr. Boris Rhein continued to have a voice of support for the EU to soon ratify the Free Trade Agreement, the the EU - Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement.

For his part, Mr. Boris Rhein expressed his happiness as witnessing the strong development of the relations between Hessen and Vietnam, which is considered as valuable asset for the two sides to nurture for a long time. Thus, the two sides should continue promoting the traditional friendship, promote trade and investment, increase exchange of high-level delegations and expand people-to-people exchanges.

Notably, he added the Vietnam - Germany University project is a noble symbol and meaningful message for the two-side relationship, is the enthusiasm that he has been trying to gain, especially the preparation for the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - Germany relations in 2020./.
