The official dispatch was sent to the Ministers of Transport, Planning and Investment, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction; Chairmen of the Committees for Management of State Capital at Enterprises; Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.
It stated that developing synchronous and modern infrastructure is one of three strategic breakthroughs, in which transport infrastructure development is an important pillar, creating new development space and a driving force for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.
The 13th National Party Congress determined the goal that the whole country will have about 3,000 km of expressways by 2025 and about 5,000 km of expressways by 2030. In 2021-2025, maximum resources have been focused on developing transportation infrastructure, 3 times more than the 2016-2020 period.
Recently, the Ministry of Transport and localities; investors, the management boards of projects, construction contractors, consulting contractors, engineers and workers have drastically and actively implemented important national transportation projects and works. Many construction workers and projects have worked continuously even on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and New Year. As a result, in 2023, 20 projects were put into operation, including 9 expressway projects with 475-km length, bringing the total number of expressways put into operation since the beginning of the term to 729 km, and the total length of expressways in the country to nearly 1,900 km.
Right during the 2024 New Year holidays, on key traffic projects across the country, officers, employees and workers, management boards, and construction contractors were still enthusiastically working to speed up the progress of works and projects.
With the spirit of “All for the happiness and prosperity of people, for the strong development of the country” and to strive to fulfill the goals of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Prime Minister requested the Ministries, branches, localities, investors, management boards, construction contractors, consulting contractors, officers, engineers, technicians, and workers on construction sites to continue to promote the highest sense of responsibility, promptly overcome all difficulties and obstacles, and strive to speed up construction progress on the construction site and at the same time soon complete procedures and start construction on more new transportation infrastructure projects and works./.
