Preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association show that in March 2024, Vietnam exported 25,579 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 22,282 tons, white pepper reached 3,297 tons.

Pepper export turnover reached 110.7 million USD, of which black pepper export was valued at 92.0 million USD, white pepper export turnover was 18.7 million USD, up 88.1% in turnover and 102.2% in volume compared to February, respectively.
The average export price of black pepper in March reached 4,136 USD a ton, up 310 USD, while white pepper reached 5,710 USD a ton, up 55 USD.
By the end of the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam exported 56,712 tons of pepper of all kinds, including 49,743 tons of black pepper and 6,969 tons of white pepper. Total export turnover reached 235.6 million USD, of which black pepper reached 196.9 million USD, and white pepper reached 38.7 million USD. Compared to the same period in 2023, export volume decreased by 26.1% and turnover declined by 0.1%.
The average export price of black pepper reached 3,966 USD a ton, up 562 USD from the same period last year, while white pepper reached 5,552 USD a ton, up 593 USD.
Asia is the largest export region of Vietnam’s pepper, accounting for 37.7%, equivalent to 21,365 tons, however compared to the same period, the volume decreased by 54.3%. India is the largest export market in Asia with 3,793 tons, an increase of 19.6% and accounting for 6.7%.
Exports to China decreased the most by 95.8%, reaching only 1,083 tons compared to 25,919 tons in the same period, the UAE also decreased by 38.6%; Iran decreased by 29.3%, while exports to Korea increased sharply by 179.9% to 2,164 tons.
The Americas ranked second, accounting for 29.7%, of which the United States is the largest export market of Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 26.8%, equivalent to 15,185 tons, up 27.9% over the same period./.
