The Bac Giang People’s Committee has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a conference to promote the consumption of oranges, pomelos and other key and typical agricultural products.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that due to the complicated COVID-19 epidemic in the country and the world, the Ministry of Industry and Trade identified the domestic market as an important output of agricultural products.
In addition to traditional trade promotion channels, the Ministry directed the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to coordinate with relevant localities and units to promote consumption through modern distribution channels, e-commerce platforms associated with product traceability.
Bac Giang province is about to enter the harvest season of agricultural products and specialties such as oranges, pomelos, custard-apple, chicken and pork. Of which, orange production will reach 48,000 tons; pomelo about 36,000 tons; custard-apple about 4,000 tons; pork about 60,000 tons; chicken meat about 17,000 tons and many other typical and key agricultural products.
According to a representative of the Sendo e-commerce platform, from its experience in consuming agricultural products online, Sendo will increase both the variety and consumption of agricultural products that are in the harvest season of Bac Giang. Besides fruits, Sendo will pilot promoting consumption of pork and chicken directly from the production area for the first time.
Within the framework of the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade and e-commerce platforms of Sendo, Voso, Postmart and Shopee to promote consumption and distribution of agricultural products of the northern province./.
