Budget collection from export and import fulfills 15% of estimate

State budget revenue from export and import activities in the first two months of 2024 reached 56.42 trillion VND, equivalent to 15% of the estimate, a year-on-year decrease of 2.4%, according to the General Department of Customs.

The General Department of Customs said that exports in February 2024 were estimated at 24.82 billion USD, down 28.1% (equivalent to 9.71 billion USD) from the previous month. Meanwhile, imports in February 2024 were valued at 23.72 billion USD, down 23.2% (equivalent to 7.18 billion USD) from the previous month.

Total exports and imports this month were estimated at 48.54 billion USD, down 25.8% (equivalent to 16.89 billion USD). Thus, the trade balance enjoyed a surplus of 1.1 billion USD.

In the first 2 months of the year, exports were estimated at 59.34 billion USD, up 19.2% (equivalent to 9.57 billion USD) compared to the same period last year, imports were estimated at 54.62 billion USD, up 18% (equivalent to 8.33 billion USD) compared to the same period last year.

Total exports and imports in the two months of 2024 reached an estimated 113.96 billion USD, an increase of 18.6% (equivalent to 17.9 billion USD) compared to the same period last year. The trade balance during the period enjoyed a surplus of 4.72 billion USD./.
