Can Tho exports over one ton of longan to US and Australia

The Can Tho City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on July 24 coordinated with Vina T&T Group on signing a contract to link and export 1.2 tons of longan to the US and Australian markets.

Co Do District, Can Tho City has an area of nearly 5,000 hectares of fruit trees. Of which, longan trees occupy about 330 hectares. Longan trees in Co Do district have been granted 36 export growing area codes and exported to numerous markets such as the United States, Australia, Japan, Thailand, the EU and China.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, said that the signing ceremony of the contract highlights efforts toward sustainable production and consumption.
Currently, the close, trustworthy and harmonious relationship between businesses and cooperatives is the right direction to create high quality products that meet the requirements of importing countries. In addition, farmers and cooperatives of Can Tho City have more good connections and good export markets./.
