Specifically, the volume of cargo exported through Vietnamese seaports in the 11 months of this year is estimated at 163 million tonnes, a decrease of 3% from the same period last year.

The volume of imported cargo also decreased 3%, estimated at more than 191 million tones.

Domestic goods saw a slight upward trend, estimated at more than 314 million tons, up 13% over the same period last year. In which, the volume of container cargo through seaports in the 11 months is estimated at nearly 23 million TEUs, an increase of 5% compared to 2021.

The decrease in volume of cleared goods is mainly attributable to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

Several seaports saw high increases in the volume of handled cargo including seaports in Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, My Tho, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa and Thai Binh./.
