Country targets export value of livestock products of 1-1.5 billion USD by 2025

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed Decision 1740/QD-TTg approving the Project on developing the slaughterhouse industry and the livestock product market until 2030.

The project sets out a plan to ensure the proportion of cattle and poultry slaughtered in industrial concentration reach about 60% and 40% by 2025, and about 70% and 50% by 2030, respectively. Vietnam develops a number of livestock product processing facilities with scale, technology and management on par with the region and the world.
The project also aims at the export value of livestock products of 1-1.5 billion USD by 2025 and 3-4 billion USD by 2030.
The Government will support the development and connection to ensure input material sources for concentrated slaughterhouses facilities and advanced technology associated with product processing and trade; build a statistical management system on slaughtering and processing from central to local levels; and raise community awareness and understanding of safe, branded and traceable livestock products.
For the domestic market, the project clearly states the development of livestock product consumption markets in localities in a sustainable manner; builds a system from farming to slaughter, processing and reaching consumers to ensure food safety and hygiene./.
