| Da Nang City is positioned as the center and nucleus of innovative startups in the central region |
The city has established the Center for Supporting Innovative Startups under the Department of Science and Technology to act as a focal point to connect and organize activities to support innovative startups, and at the same time, build policy mechanisms to promote development of an innovative startup ecosystem, focusing on developing technical facilities to serve startups.
Da Nang City is positioned by the central government as the center and nucleus of innovative startups in the central region. The city is making efforts to build and offer many policies to support innovative businesses.
FiveSS, an e-commerce platform licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade specializing in the field of construction and home care services, won the third prize at the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Festival - SURF 2024. Thanks to the passion and desire to digitize the construction industry, Mr. Do Quy Su and his colleagues founded the five-star e-commerce platform FiveSS. This application is a diverse ecosystem of construction and home care products, with a simple and easy-to-use interface.
FiveSS connects suppliers with people with the demand of using construction products and services. Mr. Do Quy Su highly appreciated Da Nang’s efforts in supporting startups with favorable conditions in marketing communications or supporting startup capital. He wants the city to pay more attention to projects that bring practicality to society and people, and have mechanisms to help projects be commercialized.
Meanwhile, after seven years of construction and development, EM&AI Joint Stock Company, a pioneer company in intensive research of Artificial Intelligence technology, provides applications for call center staff and AI Chatbot staff. EM&AI products are currently used by the Vietnamese Consulate in Japan and many units and businesses. Mr. Le Ngoc Tri, CEO of EM&AI Joint Stock Company, said that Da Nang needs to establish a specialized group to provide clear and specific orders to startups, in order to stimulate other companies to boldly deploy more.
Since 2016, the central coastal city of Da Nang has implemented many activities to support the startup ecosystem, especially expanding the legal corridor, finding investment resources, and supporting start-up businesses and individuals. According to Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the city continues to focus on building institutions and creating the most favorable environment for innovative start-up businesses. Currently, the city is submitting to the National Assembly specific policies for the city, including innovation start-up policies.
This year, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center supports startup projects to reach experts, investors, investment funds and businesses with the goal of helping entrepreneurs access capital and share their startup experiences and ideas with investment funds.
Da Nang currently has one Innovation Startup Support Center, two Startup Centers at universities, many startup investment funds, startup clubs at Universities, Colleges and the innovative start-up business community. Recently, the central hub launched the Da Nang - Seoul innovation space, promoting the formation of the Vietnam - Korea Investment Fund. The city has become an attractive start-up address for many businesses./.
