Wood and wood product exports are estimated to reach 4.8 billion USD in the first four months of the year, up 23.7% over the same period last year.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in April 2024, export turnover of wood and wood products reached 1.3 billion USD, up 0.2% against March 2024 and up 19.4 billion USD against April 2023. Of which, wood product export turnover is estimated at 893 million USD, up 0.7% against March 2024, and up 14.1% against April 2023.
In the first four months of 2024, exports of the commodity are estimated to reach 4.8 billion USD, up 23.7% over the same period last year. Of which, exports of wood products were valued at 3.3 billion, up 25.8% over the same period.
Mr. Do Xuan Lap, Chairman of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association, said that consumption of goods in many large markets like the US and Europe is seeing better signs, promoting an increase in export orders.
With Vietnam among world-leading countries in wood export proportion, the country’s wood industry has expanded export markets, penetrated deeper into important markets such as the US, EU, Korea and Japan, and has increasing presence in emerging markets such as the UAE and India./.
