Khanh Hoa’s exports to Japan valued at 111 million USD

The information was shared by Ms. Phan Thi Thu Cuc, Deputy Director in charge of the Khanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade, at a recent investment promotion conference.

Japan is an important partner and a potential market for import-export businesses in Khanh Hoa. This is also one of the largest export turnover markets in Asia for the province.
According to data from the provincial Department of Statistics, export turnover of Khanh Hoa enterprises to Japan is forecast to reach 152.05 million USD in 2023, accounting for 9.68% of the province’s total export turnover, ranked first in Asia.
“The structure of import-export goods between Khanh Hoa and Japan is not competitive but complementary,” Ms. Cuc said.
Specifically, Khanh Hoa mainly imported from Japan machinery and equipment, raw materials and accessories for production and consumer goods. Meanwhile, products exported to Japan were seafood products (accounting for over 72%), followed by agricultural products, ready-made garments, wood and wood products, and bamboo and rattan products.
“With more than 40 export seafood processing facilities, Khanh Hoa enterprises’ processed seafood products have gradually met the tastes and needs of Japanese consumers,” Cuc said.
In the first 9 months of 2023, Khanh Hoa’s export turnover was estimated at 1.1 billion USD. Of which, seafood products reached 454.5 million USD./.
