Numerous groups from Hong Kong (China) to seek opportunities in Vietnam

According to Vero Company, a media partner of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (China), Mr. Lee Ka-Chiu - Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China), will lead a delegation to visit and work in Hanoi from July 31 to August 1, 2024 and Ho Chi Minh City on August 1-2, 2024.

The delegation, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, will include representatives of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) and about 30 leaders of leading groups from mainland China and Hong Kong (China) specializing in many fields such as finance and insurance; innovation and technology; professional services; infrastructure, transport and supply and energy and hotels.

Hong Kong (China) is an international financial, business, investment and cultural exchange center, and a bridge between mainland China and the world. It plays a role in developing close relations between mainland China and Vietnam by creating opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access the mainland market.

Vietnam and Hong Kong (China) maintain strong trade and economic relations. In 2023 alone, Vietnam is Hong Kong’s (China) fifth largest export market and the largest in ASEAN. The country is also Hong Kong’s seventh largest trading partner and the second largest in ASEAN, and Hong Kong’s eighth largest import market and the third largest in ASEAN.

The working visit is expected to offer opportunities to discuss the cooperation between the two sides as well as ways to help Vietnam take advantages of the dynamic start-up ecosystem in emerging areas such as innovation and technology (I&T), sustainable development and green finance./.
