The application of high technology has brought high economic efficiency to agricultural production.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, to realize the High-tech Agricultural Development Program for the 2022-2030 period, the sector will promote the application of high technology and advanced technology to produce a number of high value-added tax agricultural products.
The move aims to contributing to bringing the rate of value of agricultural products applying high technology to over 20% by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
The application of high technology has brought high economic efficiency to agricultural production such as vegetable crops with a revenue of 2.5-9 billion VND per ha, and profit from 1.6 billion VND to 4.9 billion VND per ha.
For flowers, the revenue will be from 500 million VND to 9.9 billion VND per ha, profit will be from 0.3 to 5.4 billion VND per ha; vannamei shrimp will improve productivity and quality by 40 times compared to mass production; and cut production costs by 30-35%.
Towards the set goal, the agricultural sector will develop and master a number of high technologies on the list of high technologies prioritized for investment and development in the field of agriculture; effectively applying them to production of high-tech agricultural products on a commercial scale.
At the same time, the sector will create and put into production at least 8-10 key plant and animal varieties with high yield, good quality, outstanding tolerance; 8-10 advanced technological processes; and 8-10 new biological products, materials, machinery and equipment for agricultural production./.
