Trade deficit of 1.51 billion USD in first half of September 2021

Vietnam’s export and import turnover totalled 26.45 billion USD from 1 to 15 September 2021, according to statistics recently released by the General Department of Customs.

Country records over 7 billion USD trade deficit from ASEAN countries

In the first half of September, export turnover reached 11.57 billion USD while imports were valued at 13.08 billion USD.

Of this, export turnover reached 11.57 billion USD. Phones and components; computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; textiles and garments each earned export turnover of more than 1 billion USD. However, export turnover of key commodity groups decreased sharply compared to the second half of August 2021.

Meanwhile, import turnover during the 15 days reached 13.08 billion USD. Computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts are the two groups of goods with turnover of 1 billion USD or more.

From the beginning of the year to the end of September 15, the country’s total import-export turnover reached nearly 455 billion USD; in which, exports posted 225.2 billion USD and imports reached over 229 billion USD.

Also in the first half of September, the country had a trade deficit of 1.51 billion USD./.
