Vietnam’s trade surplus to EU estimated at 5.04 billion USD

Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus of 109.1 million USD to Russia and 49.1 million USD to Ukraine in the first two months of 2022, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Specifically, Vietnam’s exports to Ukraine were valued at 57.5 million USD, accounting for 0.11% of the country's total export turnover, while import turnover from the market reached 8.4 million USD. While with the Russian market, over the past 2 months, the country’s exports to Russia reached 555.3 million USD, accounting for 1.03% of the country’s total; imports posted 446.2 million USD, accounting for 0.8%.

In general, the US continues to be the largest export market of Vietnam with an estimated turnover of 16.83 billion USD; imports from the market are estimated at 2 billion USD; gaining a trade surplus of 14.83 billion USD.

China is Vietnam’s largest import market with an estimated turnover of 19.7 billion USD. Because exports to China in the 2 months reached 7.18 billion USD, the trade deficit from the market posted 12.5 billion USD.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s trade surplus with the EU was estimated at 5.04 billion USD, up 56.6% over the same period last year; while that with Japan was estimated at 236 million USD.

Meanwhile Vietnam had a trade deficit of 6.16 billion USD with the Republic of Korea and a trade deficit of 1.75 billion USD with ASEAN./.
