In spite of slower starting point than other countries, Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing industry has recorded many outstanding developments. With VinFast's pioneering steps, the dream of bringing Vietnamese electric cars to the world has become a reality.

VinFast’s efforts successfully made their mark when its two electric car models VF e35 and VF e36 appeared at the “launch ceremony of the group’s global electric car brand" in the US on November 18, 2021. This is a historic breakthrough for VinFast in particular and the Vietnamese car industry in general.

In particular, VinFast’s appearance at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show has also made Vietnam a potential bright spot on the world automobile map when introducing Vietnamese electric vehicles brand to international public.

In July 2021, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's Car Company officially put its branches in the US, Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands into operation, in preparation for the market launch.

In addition, VinFast has just completed opening an office in Frankfurt city, Germany. At the same time, offices in Shanghai, China and Seoul, the Republic of Korea are also being gradually completed. VinFast’s presence in the world's largest production centers and "green" vehicle consumption areas has also partly affirmed its stature and "incredible" speed on the journey to bring Vietnam's electric cars to the world market.

Opened for sale in early 2022, VinFast VF 8 has received strong support from domestic and international consumers. Accordingly, after only 48 hours of opening deposits, VF 8 received 15,237 orders. Until September 10, 2022, VinFast officially handed over the first VF 8 cars to pioneering customers in Vietnam. In particular, on November 25, the ship bearing the VinFast logo "crossed the sea" to hand over VF 8 to customers in the US, Canada and Europe.

Not stopping there, in April last year, VinFast and the U.S.’s state of North Carolina completed a memorandum of understanding to build a factory with an investment of 2 billion USD in the first phase.

The group officially started construction on the electric vehicle factory project in Chatham County, North Carolina in July, marking an important step in its market expansion strategy.

Recently, in Los Angeles (USA), Vietnam’s Global Smart Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Company signed a contract with the first 5 dealers in 4 states in the U.S., immediately providing the opportunity to experience VinFast electric vehicles for clients.

Last month, VinFast officially broke ground on the first integrated electric vehicle factory in Tamil Nadu state, India. Construction of the factory in the world's third largest auto market affirms its potential and strong determination of VinFast in its global transportation greening strategy.

Receiving praise of international media

ASEAN Today analyzed the factors behind the "green transportation revolution" in Southeast Asia and VinFast is considered an important factor in the development of the electric vehicle industry in the region.

After US President Joe Biden's statement posted on the White House website in March 2022, Newsweek magazine (USA) ran the headline: “Mr. Biden praises the electric car company (VinFast) for its investment of 4 billion USD and thousands of jobs creation.”

Auto Evolution newspaper devoted an analysis article to “Vietnam's spectacular breakthrough” and did not hesitate to predict “VinFast could be the next Tesla”. “The Vietnamese manufacturer has invested significantly and made a big change in the auto industry,” Auto Evolution introduced.

Automotive website 4x4.media (Russia) commented that VinFast’s car models will definitely “cause a storm” in Europe. The Russian news site said that the group caused a big surprise when it appeared with a completely new look. The only pure electric car company from Southeast Asia came to the exhibition with impressive electric cars.

Vision-mobility, a German auto website, evaluates that what VinFast brings and shows in Paris this year continues to make a big splash in the industry. VinFast reaffirms the importance of the European market to the new manufacturer’s growth strategy./.
