Pasaxon newspaper, the organ of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, on June 1 published an article entitled "Vietnam will enter a new stage of development".
The article published on Pasaxon newspaper on June 1
The article assesses that the election of deputies to the Vietnamese 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term has been a great success, contributing to bring the country to a new stage of development, meeting the requirements and expectations of voters and people across the country.
This is the 15th NA election of Vietnam, after 75 years since it conducted the first election and after more than 35 years of Vietnam's doi moi (renewal), according to the article.
The article stated that although it was held while the COVID-19 pandemic was undergoing complex development in diverse localities nationwide, on election day, localities arranged a schedule for voters to go to polling places according to specific time and place; strictly implement the 5K message of Khau trang (facemask) – Khu khuan (disinfection) – Khoang cach (distance) – Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration) for preventing COVID-19, and ensuring voters’ health. The high voter turnout rate, even in areas where the COVID-19 pandemic was reported, demonstrates the people's trust in the Party and State in building a socialist law-regulated State.
According to the article’s author, the successful election shows that the Vietnamese people trust the political system. “Vietnamese voters believe that they will elect prestigious delegates to continue to bring the country to stable development, and make people's lives more and more prosperous and happy,” the author wrote.
The article concludes that, through the elections so far, Vietnamese voters have always had a high voter turnout rate, which not only shows the awareness of citizens' rights and obligations, but also shows the voters' trust in the NA, the highest body of state power of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and demonstrates their confidence in the Party and State in promulgating development policies in each region, as well as across the country, to bring Vietnam to a new stage of development./.
