Vietnam entered the top 10, after Taiwan (China), Mexico, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia, Ecuador and Canada. The survey was conducted with more than 12,420 expats to determine how happy they are while living and working abroad.

According to InterNations, 86% of expats living in Vietnam are satisfied with their jobs, 78% are satisfied with the work-life balance, and 85% are satisfied with the cost of living. Besides, 85% of foreigners living in Vietnam also expressed satisfaction with life in the country. 57% of foreigners are satisfied with the quality of medical care and 67% say that making new friends is easy while living in Vietnam.

In 2019, Vietnam jumped 12 places, from 14th place in 2018 to runner-up in the ranking of the best places to live and work for expats, after Taiwan (China).

In the top 10 rated countries and territories in the Expat Insider survey, Taiwan (China), Mexico, and Costa Rica are the top destinations for expats to live and work in 2021, based on cost of living, ease of settlement and overall quality of life.

The survey released on May 18 showed that Taiwan (China) topped the rankings for the third successive year. Foreigners value Taiwan's medical services more than overall quality of life, with 96% of respondents satisfied with the quality of healthcare.

According to Bloomberg, health is of particular concern to foreigners this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. InterNations has measured the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of expats, but the pandemic-related issues in this organization's survey showed that the pandemic did not affect the overall ranking of locations./.
